I Like Girls With Glasses

David's Journal 1 Comment

I like girls with glasses.

Glasses make a girl look smart, intelligent, thoughtful and well-read. Smart girls are hot. I like smart girls.

Ergo, I like girls with glasses. :)

Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER

It’s a time of rebirth

Renewal

Second chances

Springtime

Hope

Love

Happy Easter, my friends.

Thank you for all your love, support, hope, faith, and encouragement through my dark, challenging, and frightening times. Easter coincides with the spring equinox, the end of winter and the beginning of better times to come. May it be more than a change in seasons on the outside, but also a change of seasons within.

Namaste.

Love,
David Michaels

Exhaustion

David's Journal No Comments

I couldn’t sleep last night.

I got my first paycheck from my new job. It was … insufficient.

Enough to pay rent. But then I realized I didn’t have enough left over to pay for food or gas until my next paycheck.

Meaning, I couldn’t go to work, and I couldn’t eat.

I had no more money.

Fuck Off

David's Journal No Comments

Fuck Off.

At least, that’s what I feel like telling people sometimes.

Talk is cheap. No, talk is free.

It costs nothing. NOTHING.

Look, I already know I need to “trust in God.” No one needs to tell me to “hang in there.” I know. And I also know God’s got some big plan for my life — that’s what I meant when I said, “I must’ve come here for a reason” in my last blog. I know I’ve got a purpose. I know there’s a reason for my being here. I just don’t know what it is. So just saying I have some unknown purpose and expecting that to somehow make me feel better is completely useless and totally unhelpful.

Give me a clue!

Uncertain

I’m doing a job I enjoy.

I just hope it will work.

I work as a courier now, picking up and delivering rush packages (usually escrow checks and real estate title documents) from one office to another throughout San Diego County.

I enjoy it.

I’m pretty free, I get fantastic views all day long, traffic is a breeze compared to what I was used to in Los Angeles… There’s a sense of adventure and exploration. But I get to see people too, say hello, put a smile on their face.

When I was hired, my new manager said the drivers were earning, on average, about $150 per day. We drive our own cars, pay for our own gas, etc. We’re on commission. We get 45% of whatever the company bills the client for the delivery. He also said that drivers do about 150 miles per day.

Well, I’ve been working for them for a week and a half now.

On Fast Forward

And so it was:

A wristwatch saved Harold Crick.

~ ~ ~

I don’t really have anything to say today. I just wanted to write.

I just finished watching Stranger Than Fiction (referenced above). It was my first time. I don’t know why it took me so long to see it. I knew I wanted to see it when it was out in theaters. Guess I was too broke before. Too broke to spend $10.50 for a couple hours one night at a movie theater.

That’s sad.

But not any more. I have a better paying — and much more enjoyable — job now.

A couple nights ago, my new roommate and I watched Click. That one I actually saw in theaters. I loved it. I made sure to buy it on DVD when it came out. And I did.

Both are entertaining, well done films. Both have strong overtones about life and death.

And our choices along the way.

So Happy

David's Journal No Comments

My computer is working again!

Well…mostly.  I’m not sure what I did, but I got the internet working again.  Better and faster than before, too!  Then, of course, the sound wasn’t working at all.  Finally, after fiddling with it for a few hours, uninstalling and re-installing drivers and whatnot, I got it to play audio again!  But, alas, some of my audio programs (like what I use to record podcasts) crashed when I tried to load them.  lol.  But, persistence pays off, and that’s now working again too. :)

My microphone still isn’t.  It’s an old one, something I got cheap on clearance from RadioShack several years ago.  Maybe it’s just dead.  I have plans to do some podcasts again (along with a few other surprises) soon, so maybe I’ll just invest in a nice new one.

All in all, I consider this afternoon a success. :)  hehe.

Love,
David
