2789.1 miles later

Wednesday, September 10th.  9:00am.

After getting very little sleep the night before, I take one last picture of myself in front of my San Diego apartment.  My car is loaded.  A long journey is ahead of me.  I was already tired.  But very excited. :)

The night before, I went to bed at a decent time.  But I couldn’t sleep.  I woke up after about an hour.  Originally I had planned to load up my car Wednesday morning, but since I was awake and full of energy anyway, I decided to do it at 2 o’clock in the morning instead.  I finished around 3, still wired, unable to sleep.  I sat in my living room one last time, silently enjoying and reflecting on so many good memories here.

Finally around 4am, I get back to sleep, only to wake up several hours later.  Well, might as well hit the road! :)

I fill up my tank, $3.79 per gallon.  I’m looking forward to gas prices dropping as I head east.

Hah.  Or so I thought!
